say “aaaaaah”….

fear not, the doctor is in.
on this day of pumpkins and leaves and fresh chills in the air, i am not afraid. not afraid of the witches or goblins or infinite masses of young boys swinging swords and guns.
better yet, i am not afraid of cancer. at least not right now.
another 3 months have gone by, and, thankfully, another clear scan today.
so thankful. still afraid sometimes. still adjusting. still not normal. still though. still.
fear less, the doctor is in.

cool that liddy is going as a superhero this year.
October 31, 2007 at 3:54 pm
don’t think it didn’t dawn on me how rad it is that liddy is going as a doctor. i was going to write a post about it, but it’s too easy. dan, you look pained in that picture …like you’re on the toilet. are you ok?
back to liddy being a doctor. a while back, when lee was sick, she learned the “na na na na na na, you can’t catch me”, but changed it to “na na na na feel better, you can’t catch me”.
she runs around the house yelling that now.
it’s supposed to be mean and taunting,
but somehow doesn’t quite get there.
i love it, especially when she says it wearing her doctor’s costume.
one night, in her sleep, i want to hear leanne say it.
as if, in her dream, she is meeting up with cancer itself and delivering the message in person.

ps - can i just say that, for the record, i AM afraid of the infinite masses of young boys swinging swords and guns

Happy Healthy (yes, especially that!) Halloween! Way to go, Lee. You know, all along it has been Liddy who has had the right “prescription” for making you feel better.
So glad to hear the good news. Not writing much, but still thinking of you often.
All my love — Jen (and Fred, Alexi and Julia)

I just came by hoping you’d posted Liddy in a Halloween costume– she’s adorable! That’s a great costume for her, maybe it’s foreshadowing her future career? Great news about the clean scan, too! Tim has another one coming up next month, and we’re expecting good news, of course. Happy Halloween!!

I just had my latest CT scan this past week. Still waiting on the results, am hoping they’re good, as yours were. I’m out of remission myself (indolent NHL), but it’s been moving so slowly we’re in “watch & wait” mode as far as treatment is concerned.
It’s no fun waiting, is it? (Though I’m actually not feeling fearful.)

HURRAH! I am so, so happy for you and your family. I’m glad. And I’m glad that you don’t need to write about the sickness so much anymore. So, so glad.
Blessings to all of you….

I am getting ready for Christmas and I am wondering about all of you. Are you well? Continuing to count your copious blessings?
Peace.

I was randomly thinking of you all this weekend, and stopped by the blog hoping for a more recent update. I hope that no news is good news! Would love to hear how you all are doing, just as much in health as in sickness.
Happy holidays,
Jenny & Tim Carey
